AP Statistics Resources

Advanced Placement Statistics acquaints students with the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. The course will have a data-driven framework that will require students to work on projects involving hands-on gathering and analysis of real world data, making full use of the information available on the Internet. Computers and calculators will allow students to focus deeply on the key concepts involved in statistics in order to prepare students for the Advanced Placement Examination in Statistics administered by ETS for the College Board

Prerequisites: Completion of Algebra II.

Four Broad Conceptual Themes

  1. Exploring Data: Observing Patterns and departures from patterns
  2. Planning a Study: Deciding what and how to measure
  3. Anticipating Patterns: Producing models using probability and simulation
  4. Statistical Inference: Confirming models.
