Stars in my eyes...

I love of watching the night sky. Here are few of my first attempts in astrophotgraphy:

M8

Here is M8, "The Lagoon Nebula" This is 10 minute exposure using the primary focus method on my C8 f/10 (October 1999, Angeles National Forest).

The Crab Nebula in Taurus

This was taken through the Celestron 8' Schmidt-Cassegrain, using the primary focus technique. This is a 10 minute exposure using Kodak Max film on January 1, 1998.

The Orion Nebula

Again using the telescope itself as a lens, exposing the film directly for 10 minutes using Kodak Max film on January 1, 1998

Earth's moon

This was taken 10 Mar 1998 using eyepeice projection on to a Ricoh RDC-2 digital camera. The camera was held up to a 25mm Possl eyepeice placed in the telescope. It was tricky getting the exposure right, since the camera is designed to automatically adjust to its surroundings, not necessarily what is pointing into the eyepeice!

Jupiter

Here is a first attempt using a CWIP-S CCD camera I bought from a Canadian astromomer. This is 50 ms exposure using the primary focus method on my C8 (October 1999).
